Bringing Awareness On Child Labor This Labor Day

Summer is coming to an end, which means many of us are getting back into our normal daily routines. Kids are heading back to school and many of you are heading back to work. Since Labor Day is near we wanted to honor all of the American workers, who are dedicated to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of this country. We also wanted to dedicate this Labor Day to bring awareness into child labor. Many of our children have the opportunity to live a normal childhood, but in many poor countries this is not the case.

According to the International Labor Organization about 260 million children around the world are employed and about 170 are engaged in child labor. What does this mean? It means those 170 children who are engaged in child labor don’t get to live a normal childhood. It means children are being used to make textiles to satisfy the demand of consumers in Europe, U.S and other countries. Even though child labor is forbidden in most countries many children are heading to work instead of school. The worst part is the conditions these children have to work in; they work long hours and are paid below the required minimum wage.

Child Labor is wrong, harmful, and unacceptable and should not be supported. Because of the astonishing practices some of the manufacturers decide to use to produce their products we decided we didn’t want to support that practice, we wanted to be a better company. We are an organic bedding company that has been around and has dedicated over 10 years into bringing you the purest and safest bedding products.

At My Organic Sleep we like to keep it simple, we don’t spend a lot of money on advertisements; our products are either Organic or Eco-Friendly and are fair trade certified.  We have a mission to ensure that all of products are made to higher standards to help preserve the environment, while keeping our customers health in mind.

Our company only supports humane working conditions and will continue to promote it in the hope that awareness continues to spread. Our mission is to give everyone the opportunity to support a fair trade company and purchase organic and eco-friendly bedding products by providing our customers with the best value on the market.
