Why Wool Beats Polyester Every Time.

Wool is known for being supremely soft yet notably durable. According to Wool Studies and Resources, our wool fiber can be bent 20,000 times without breaking and is still strong enough to return to its original shape! So you know that these wool products, like our Organic Wool Comforter, will last.

Also, it is an incredibly eco-friendly fiber since each year the sheep grow a new coat of fleece which makes wool a sustainable and renewable fiber. It easily decomposes into the soil and can act as fertilizer with its high nitrogen content.

Here are some interesting facts about Natural Aussie Wool

  • Regulates Body Temperature: It is a warm and breathable fabric so it will raise your body temperature quickly yet maintain it at comfortable level all through the night. Also, wool will keep you warm in the winter and cool in summer since its natural structure makes it possible to absorb and release water vapor into the atmosphere.
  • Hypoallergenic: Resistant to dust mites, mold and mildew. Say good-bye to comforters that eventually turn into allergen breeding grounds!
  • Naturally Flame Retardant: Does not need the chemical laden fire retardant that is sprayed on most synthetic and polyester comforters. Wool has an excellent Natural Flame Resistance with a higher ignition threshold of up to 600º C!

We take particular care to craft our wool products from the best source available so you reap the added benefits of our washable, Natural Aussie Wool

  • Machine Washable: This wool is washable in the cold water cycle or can be hand washed. Then simply place your washable wool on the delicate, low temperature dry cycle or hang to dry. This eliminates the need for a costly dry cleaning process. Plus more importantly, this avoids the risks associated with dry cleaning (carbon tetra chloride is frequently used in dry cleaning).
  • Eco-Friendly Processing: Washable wool processed using natural enzymes instead of harsh chemicals associated with traditional wool processing.
  • Delightfully Soft: It is plush and exponentially softer than traditional wool comforters because the our eco-friendly processing softens the wool fiber. Also, it is completely free of that off-putting "sheep smell" associated with traditional wool comforters.

I need to know the weight of the wool, I need a light weighted comforter. I like the fact that this can be washed, but if too heavy, it does me no good. THANKS
